Description

  1. TASK 79-22-41-990-501 Oil Scavenge Pump - Related Parts - Description And Operation Of The Oil Scavenge Pump

    1. Description

The scavenge pump is a removable assembly installed on the rear face of the gearbox. The scavenge pump serves to boost the scavenge capacity of the oil pump module. The pump consists of a separable housing which contains a drive gear which drives two pump gear modules. Refer to Figure.

    2. Operation

The pump is driven through a gearmesh with an idler gearshaft, driven in turn by the angle gearbox input gearshaft. The direction of drive rotation is clockwise. The six stages of the pump get back the oil from:

      No.1, 2 and 3 bearing compartment (1 stage).

      Deoiler (1 stage).

      No.5 bearing compartment (1 stage).

      Angle gearbox (1 stage).

      Accessory drive gearbox (2 stages).

The scavenge oil is returned to the tank through a fine scavenge filter.
