Description

  1. TASK 79-22-43-990-501 Scavenge Oil Filter Housing - Related Parts - Description And Operation Of The Scavenge Oil Filter Housing Assembly

    1. Description

The scavenge oil filter is a component of the gearbox module on the V2500 engine. The filter housing is mounted on the oil tank and incorporates a by-pass valve, a chip detector and has also ports which allow the monitoring of the pressure drop and the temperature. Refer to Fig 79-22-43-990-001 (Fig 1).

    2. Operation

The scavenge oil is passed through the scavenge oil filter and is then supplied to the oil tank. In the event of excessive filter blockage the by-pass valve opens at 20 psi pressure drop across the filter and allows the oil passage to the tank.
