General

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.

Remove and discard the lockwire before parts are disconnected or removed.

Discard all packings removed in this procedure.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 79-22-43-060-051 Disassemble the Scavenge Oil Filter Housing Assembly

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Attach the filter housing assembly to suitable bracket with the filter cover side up.

    3. Release and remove the six bolts and washers which attach the cover to the filter housing.

    4. Remove the cover and discard the packing.

    5. Remove the filter element.

    6. Rotate the assembly with the opening side down.

    7. Release and remove the three bolts and washers that attach the by-pass valve to the filter housing. Remove the valve and discard the packings.

    8. Cut the lockwire and remove the three nuts (01-322).

    9. Remove the three union adapters (01-320) from the filer housing and discard the packings.

    10. Cut the lockwire and remove the plugs (01-660 and 01-662). Discard the packings.

    11. Remove the casing from the support bracket.

    2. SUBTASK 79-22-43-060-052 Disassemble the Scavenge Oil Filter Housing Assembly

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Attach the filter cover to suitable support bracket.

    3. Cut the lockwire and remove the plug. Discard the packing.

    4. Turn the filter cover. Release and remove the nut and the washer.

    5. Remove the ring, the spring and the special bolt.

    6. Remove the filter cover from the support bracket.

    3. SUBTASK 79-22-43-060-053 Disassemble the By-pass Valve

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Remove the retaining ring from the valve casing.

    3. Remove the ring, the spring and the valve from the casing.
