TASK 79-22-43-460-401 Scavenge Oil Filter Housing - Related Parts - Assemble The Scavenge Oil Filter Housing Assembly, Assembly-001
General
Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.
Make sure that all holes are free from foreign matter.
For standard torque data and procedures, refer to SPM TASK 70-41-00-400-501.
Special torque data and assembly tolerances are included in the procedure.
Lubricate all threads and abutment faces of nuts and bolts with CoMat 10-077 APPROVED ENGINE OILS, unless other lubricants are referred to in the procedure.
To identify, lubricate and install seal rings refer to SPM TASK 70-44-01-400-501.
After assembly apply CoMat 01-275 CHROMATE CONVERSION COATING FOR ALUMINIUM to any damaged surface protection, joint flanges and attach parts. Refer to SPM TASK 70-38-02-300-503.
For lockwire data and procedures refer to SPM TASK 70-38-02-300-503.
Special tool are identified in the procedure by the tool primary number.

Refer to Figure.
Attach the cover to suitable support bracket.
Put the spring and the ring on the boss in the inner side of the cover.
Install the special bolt from the external side of the filter cover. Install the washer and the nut to the other side.
Torque the nut to 75 to 85 lbfin (8.5 to 9.6 Nm).
Turn the filter cover up.
Install 01-100 packing on the plug.
Install the plug on the cover. Torque to 53 to 71 lbfin (6 to 8 Nm). Lock together the plug and the casing with CoMat 02-141 LOCKWIRE lockwire.
Remove the cover from the support bracket.
SUBTASK 79-22-43-470-051 Assemble the Oil Filter Cover
Refer to Figure.
Install the valve in the casing valve with the open side turned to the top.
Install the spring, the ring, and the retaining ring on to the valve.
Check that the valve opens at 20 psi (0.138 MPa) ring with a correct thickness to obtain the required value.
Install 01-390 packing and 01-355 packing on to the valve.
SUBTASK 79-22-43-470-052 Assemble the By-pass Valve
Attach the casing to suitable support bracket with the open side turned to the top.
Install the IAE 1F10082 Guide Pin on the flange of the oil filter housing in opposite position.
Install the new (79-22-44,01-100) oil filter element in to the oil filter housing
Install the cover trough the guide pins to the oil filter housing.
Install four of the bolts and washers. Tighten the bolts finger tight.
Remove the two IAE 1F10082 Guide Pins from the oil filter housing.
Install the remaining two bolts and washers.
Torque the six bolts to 85 to 95 lbfin (9.6 to 10.7 Nm).
Install the filter cover.
Rotate the filter oil casing with the cover side down.
Install the by-pass valve in the oil filter casing.
Align the bolt holes.
Attach the cover with the three bolts and washers. Torque to 85 to 95 lbfin (9.6 to 10.7 Nm).
Install the by-pass valve.
Install 01-300 packings 3 off to the union adapters.
Install the two union adapters on to the casing below the by pass valve and one union adapter on the hole of the oil inlet side.
Torque to 18 to 35 lbfin (2 to 4 Nm).
Install the three nuts on to the union adapters. Torque to 18 to 35 lbfin (2 to 4 Nm).
Install the union adapters.
Install 01-663 packing to the plug.
Install the plug on the casing in the central hole. Torque to 53 to 71 lbfin (6 to 8 Nm).
Install 01-650 packing to the plug.
Install the plug on the casing. Torque to 53 to 71 lbfin (6 to 8 Nm).
Install the plugs.
Remove the assembly from the support bracket.
Lock together with CoMat 02-141 LOCKWIRE the two nuts (01-322).
Lock together with CoMat 02-141 LOCKWIRE the two plugs (01-660 and 01-662).
Final assembly of the oil scavenge filter.
