The ducts must be cleaned and inspected before this pressure test, refer to Cleaning-000 TASK 80-13-49-100-100 and Inspection-000 TASK 80-13-49-200-100.

The Test Equipment Specification

To do the test on the ducts use equipment equivalent to that shown in Figure and Figure.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 80-13-49-780-051 Prepare the Ducts (01-010 and 01-500) for the Hydraulic Pressure Test

    1. Install the IAE 1N20419 Pressurising adapter 1 off and the 206- 406 Dowty seal 1off to the duct (01-010). Safety the components with an applicable Aeroquip coupling.

    2. Install the IAE 1N20420 Blanking adapter 1 off and the 206-655 Dowty seal 1off to the duct (01-010). Safety the components with an applicable Aeroquip coupling.

    3. Install the IAE 1N20421 Pressurising adapter 1 off and the 206- 656 Dowty seal 1off to the duct (01-500). Safety the components with an applicable Aeroquip coupling.

    4. Install the IAE 1N20422 Blanking adapter 1 off and the 206-656 Dowty seal 1off to the duct (01-500). Safety the components with an applicable Aeroquip coupling.

    2. SUBTASK 80-13-49-780-052 Do the Hydraulic Pressure Test on the Ducts (01-010 and 01-500)

    1. Connect the duct to the outlet of the Hydraulic pressure testing rig.

    2. Make sure that the bleed screw is at the highest position and open.

    3. Make sure that the pressure control valve is set to zero.

    5. Slowly turn the pressure control valve until the fluid comes out of the bleed screw.

    6. Close the bleed screw.

    7. CAUTION

      DO NOT GO PAST THE TEST PRESSURE SHOWN BELOW. IT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE DUCT. IF THE PRESSURE IN THE DUCT GETS TO MORE THAN THAT SHOWN BELOW, REJECT THE DUCT.

      Increase the pressure in the ducts (01-010 and 01-500) to 145 psi (1000 kPa).

    8. Let the pressure stay in the duct for 2 minutes.

    9. Make sure that the duct has no leaks. If the duct has leaks, reject the duct. Refer to Inspection-000 TASK 80-13-49-200-100.

    10. Decrease the pressure in the duct to zero.

    12. Open the bleed screw.

    13. Disconnect the duct from the outlet of the Hydraulic pressure testing rig.

    14. Remove the couplings, the adapters and the seals from the duct.

    15. WARNING

      BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE COMPRESSED AIR. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND GOGGLES.

      Remove unwanted fluid from the duct with clean, dry compressed air.

    3. SUBTASK 80-13-49-780-053 Prepare the Ducts (01-010 and 01-500) for the Pneumatic Pressure Test

    1. Do again the procedure to prepare the ducts for the hydraulic pressure test, refer to Step

    4. SUBTASK 80-13-49-780-054 Do the Pneumatic Pressure Test on the Ducts (01-010 and 01-500)

    1. Connect the duct to the outlet of the pneumatic pressure testing rig.

    2. Put a pressure of 14.5 psi (100 kPa) in the duct.

    3. Put the duct in the water tank.

    4. Let the pressure stay in the duct for 1 minute.

    5. Make sure that the duct has no leaks. If the duct has leaks, reject the duct, refer to Inspection-000 TASK 80-13-49-200-100.

    6. Decrease the pressure in the duct to zero.

    7. Disconnect the duct from the outlet of the pneumatic pressure testing rig.

    8. Remove the couplings, the adapters and the seals from the duct.
