Common Information

TASK 71-00-00-700-057-A00 Procedure After Engine Overtemperature (With Surge Or Stall), Testing-000

Procedure After Engine Overtemperature (With Surge or Stall)

Procedure

Quickly and immediately move the thrust lever to IDLE.

Select the FUEL OFF mode.

When the N2 RPM decreases below 1490 RPM (10%), engage the starter and motor the engine. Continue to motor the engine at more than 2500 N2 RPM until the EGT has decreased below 482 deg F (250 deg C), or for two minutes, whichever is reached first.

Write how much time the temperature was more than the limit and the highest temperature for subsequent analysis. This is a very important step if IAE representative assistance is requested.

Correct the cause of overtemperature. Refer to the fault isolation TASK 71-00-00-810-017 (FAULT ISOLATION-017).

If the overtemperature was mild and the engine can be started again, refer to procedure for a Bowed Rotor Start Prevention after an Emergency Shutdown. Refer to TASK 71-00-00-700-065-A00, (TESTING-000, CONFIG-001).
