Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-32-050-076-A00 Remove the Data Entry Plug Assembly from the Fan Case (Pre SBE 73-0005 and SBE 73-0029)

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Remove the data entry plug assembly from Flange FC on the fan case as follows:

      2. Hold the pin with a wrench in the hexagon opening.

      3. Turn the collar in a counterclockwise direction with a pair of pliers.

      4. Remove the collar, data entry plug assembly and pin and discard the collar.

    3. CAUTION

      DO NOT DISASSEMBLE THE DATA ENTRY PLUG (DEP) ASSEMBLY WHEN YOU REMOVE IT FROM THE ENGINE. THE DEP BACKSHELL AND DEP CONNECTOR MUST BE AN ASSEMBLY UNTIL THE DEP IS REPAIRED OR REPLACED BY THE PROCEDURES GIVEN IN THE APPROVED REPAIRS. DISASSEMBLY OF THE DEP COULD CAUSE THE INCORRECT CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY TO BE INSTALLED ON THE ENGINE OR CONTAMINATION OF THE CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY.

      Install a protective cap or a clean dry bag on the data entry plug assembly.

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-32-050-076-B00 Remove the Data Entry Plug Assembly from the Fan Case (SBE 73-0005 and Pre SBE 73-0029)

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Remove the data entry plug assembly from Flange FC on the fan case as follows:

      2. Hold the pin with a wrench in the hexagon opening.

      3. Turn the collar in a counterclockwise direction with a pair of pliers.

      4. Remove the collar, washer, data entry plug assembly and pin and discard the collar.

    3. CAUTION

      DO NOT DISASSEMBLE THE DATA ENTRY PLUG (DEP) ASSEMBLY WHEN YOU REMOVE IT FROM THE ENGINE. THE DEP BACKSHELL AND DEP CONNECTOR MUST BE AN ASSEMBLY UNTIL THE DEP IS REPAIRED OR REPLACED BY THE PROCEDURES GIVEN IN THE APPROVED REPAIRS. DISASSEMBLY OF THE DEP COULD CAUSE THE INCORRECT CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY TO BE INSTALLED ON THE ENGINE OR CONTAMINATION OF THE CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY.
