TASK 72-00-60-050-001-A00 External Gearbox Components - Remove The Dedicated Alternator Stator, Removal-005

General

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the EIPC. Only primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the EIPC.

For all parts identified in a different Chapter/Section/Subject, the applicable Chapter/Section/Subject comes before the Fig/item number.

Apply the approved CoMat 10-058 PENETRATING OIL before the removal of threaded parts. Let the parts soak before removal.

Seal all openings when tubes are disconnected, to prevent contamination from unwanted material.

Discard all rubber seal rings removed in this procedure.

When electrical connectors are disconnected special plastic caps must be installed.

To identify the consumable materials refer to the PCI.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-60-050-107-A00 Remove the Clips at the Electrical Connectors (SBE 71-0063 and Pre SBE 71-0111)

      SBE 71-0063: EEC harness - Fan and EEC harness core - Introduction of additional support for electrical connectors

    1. Refer to Figure and Figure.

    2. Remove the bolt, the nut, the washers and the clips from the electrical connectors 4005EV-A and 4005EV-B at the clip position 1094.

    2. SUBTASK 72-00-60-050-107-B00 Remove the Lockwire at the Electrical Connectors (SBE 71-0111)

      SBE 71-0111: Power plant - EEC harness fan/core - deletion of clipping at VSVA and PMA harness connectors and introduction of wire locking to secure the connectors.

    1. Remove the lockwire which safeties the electrical connectors 4005EV-A and 4005EV-B.

    3. SUBTASK 72-00-60-050-059-A00 Remove the Dedicated Alternator Stator (Pre SBE 75-0010)

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Disconnect the electrical connectors 4005EV-A and 4005EV-B from the dedicated alternator and temporarily attach the connectors clear of the dedicated alternator with CoMat 06-086 TIES.

    3. NOTE

      The dedicated alternator stator must have its maintenance completed, as given in the D.S.I.C. Component Maintenance Manual (73-22-38).

      Remove the three nuts and the three bolts that attach the dedicated alternator stator to the external gearbox and remove the stator.

    4. Remove and discard the sealing ring.

    5. Install the applicable blanks to the dedicated alternator and the external gearbox.

    4. SUBTASK 72-00-60-050-059-B00 Remove the Dedicated Alternator Stator (SBE 75-0010)

      SBE 75-0010: Dedicated alternator - Cooling air supply

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Disconnect the electrical connectors 4005EV-A and 4005EV-B from the dedicated alternator and temporarily attach the connectors clear of the dedicated alternator with CoMat 06-086 TIES.

    3. Disconnect the tube 248 from the dedicated alternator.

    4. NOTE

      The dedicated alternator stator must have its maintenance completed, as given in the D.S.I.C. Component Maintenance Manual (73-22-38).

      Remove the three nuts and the three bolts that attach the dedicated alternator stator to the external gearbox and remove the stator.

    5. Remove and discard the sealing ring.

    6. Install the applicable blanks to the dedicated alternator and the external gearbox.

    5. SUBTASK 72-00-60-050-059-C00 Remove the Stator Generator (SBE 73-0076)

      SBE 73-0076: Dedicated alternator stator - Introduction of new source of supply

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Disconnect the electrical connectors 4005EV-A and 4005EV-B from the stator generator and temporarily attach the connectors clear of the stator generator with CoMat 06-086 TIES.

    3. Disconnect the tube 248 from the stator generator.

    4. Loosen the nut which holds the alternator shroud to the stator generator, press down on the top of the shroud to disengage the dowel on the shroud from the casing cooling air hole and then remove the shroud.

    5. NOTE

      The dedicated alternator stator must have its maintenance completed, as given in the B. F. Goodrich Component Maintenance Manual (73-22-38).

      Remove the three nuts and the three bolts that attach the stator generator to the external gearbox and remove the stator generator.

    6. Remove and discard the sealing ring.

    7. Install the applicable blanks to the stator generator and the external gearbox.

    6. SUBTASK 72-00-60-050-059-D00 Remove the Dedicated Alternator Stator (SBE 73-0073)

      SBE 73-0073: Introduction of an integral cooling shroud.

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Disconnect the electrical connectors 4005 EV-A and 4005 EV-B from the dedicated alternator and temporarily attach the connectors clear of the dedicated alternator with CoMat 06-086 TIES.

    3. Disconnect the tube 248 from the dedicated alternator.

    4. NOTE

      The dedicated alternator stator must have its maintenance completed, as given in the D.S.I.C. Component Maintenance Manual (73-22-38).

      Remove the three nuts and the three bolts that attach the dedicated alternator stator to the external gearbox and remove the stator.

    5. Remove and discard the sealing ring.

    6. Install the applicable blanks to the dedicated alternator and the external gearbox.
