Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-00-220-180 Examine Bushings, Unison Rings, VSV Levers and Pins

    1. Remove residual bushing material. Use standard workshop equipment.

      2. If missing bushing(s) are located on unison ring connector, remove VSV or VIGV actuating levers:

      1. Remove the nut.

      2. Remove the lever.

      3. Do not remove the adjusting spacer.

      3. If missing bushing is located on unison ring:

      1. Remove the affected lever arm.

      4. Visually examine the bushing holes.

        1. Determine if a bushing hole has any indications of wear and damage on unison ring.

        1. If so, reject the engine.

        2. Determine if a bushing hole has any indications of wear and damage on unison ring connector.

        1. If so, reject the unison ring connector.

      5. Examine VSV levers and pins.

        1. Visually inspect VSV levers and pins for evidence of wear or damage.

        1. If damaged or wear evident, replace the VSV lever.

    2. SUBTASK 72-00-00-350-061 Installation of Replacement Bushings and Unison Ring Connector

      1. Install the replacement bushings.

      1. Install the required bushing(s). Push the bushing into the hole until the safety feature is engaged. Refer to Figure, Figure, Figure, and Figure.

      2. Ensure the bushings are in place. Use standard equipment.

      2. Visually examine the bushings.

      1. Visually inspect to confirm that bushings are installed correctly.

      2. Use 0.001 in. (0.0254 mm) feeler gauge to ensure that the bushings are correctly seated and safety features are engaged.

      3. Install any removed VSV or VIGV actuating levers.

      1. Place the actuating lever into position on the vane spindle.

      2. Install the nut.

    3. SUBTASK 72-00-00-350-062 Conclude the Repair

    1. Make a record of VRS9344 in the applicable engine documentation.
