This Standard Practice is for the drilling of stopper holes, to prevent the increase in length of permitted seviceable cracks.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 70-35-14-230-001 Crack Test the Repaired Area

      1. Penetrant crack test the component to see if the crack is in the limits of the TASK given below:

    1. SUBTASK 70-35-14-350-001 Stop Drill

    2. Use a 0.032in. (0.813 mm) drill to stop drill the component, then remove burrs.

    1. SUBTASK 70-35-14-230-002 Crack Test the Repaired Area

    2. Penetrant crack test the component to see if the crack is correctly stop drilled. (refer to Step).

    1. SUBTASK 70-35-14-350-002 Record Repair

    2. Vibro-engrave adjacent to part number in accordance with the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501.
