TASK 70-35-25-300-001-I01 Replace The Spiral Wrapping on The Electrical Harness, Repair-001 (VRS7002)

This TASK details the procedure for the replacement of the spiral wrapping.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 70-35-25-350-048 Remove the Spiral Wrapping from the Electrical Harness

      1. Remove the spiral wrapping.

      1. If necessary, remove the ties and glass tape at each end of the spiral wrapping. Carefully lift one end of the spiral wrapping. If necessary, use a blunt, no-metallic tool taking care not to damage the cable. Unwrap the wrapping progressively until it is completely detached from the harness.

      2. Inspect the cables for condition.

      1. Make sure the cables that were covered by the spiral wrapping are serviceable. Refer to (INSPECTION P.B. 801) of the appropriate Chapter/Section/Subject for details and repairs as necessary.

    2. SUBTASK 70-35-25-350-049 Install the Spiral Wrapping to the Electrical Harness

      1. Install the spiral wrapping.

      1. Select the correct specification spiral wrapping in accordance with the Illustrated Parts Catalogue. Cut off the required length and trim the cut edges. Using your fingers, open one end of the spiral wrapping and place it over the harness. Hold that end and rotate the spiral wrapping around the harness until it is completely fitted around the harness. Verify that the spiral wrapping is in the correct position on the harness.

      2. Install the glass tape.

      1. If previously installed, reinstall new glass tape and ties at each end of the spiral wrapping.

    3. SUBTASK 70-35-25-350-050 Identify the Repair

      1. Make a mark VRS7002/I on the identification sleeve of the harness adjacent to the part number.

      1. Use permanent marker.
