Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 70-37-29-370-001 Stress-Relief Cycle 12

    2. NOTE

      To minimize distortion, you can increase and decrease temperatures slowly as in Cycle 12A in the SPM TASK 70-37-01-370-501.

      Increase the temperature of the part to 1325 to 1375 deg F (718 to 746 deg C) and hold for four hours. Air is a permitted atmosphere. Temperature increase rate is optional.

    3. Decrease the temperature of the part to 1175 to 1225 deg F (635 to 663 deg C) at a rate approximately 125 deg F (70 deg C) maximum for each hour and hold for a time which, together with the temperature decrease time from 1350 deg F (732 deg C), totals three hours. Subsequent temperature decrease rate is optional.
