Description
TASK 70-53-00-500-501 General Instructions On The Handling Of Bearings
General
Remove the new bearings from their shipping containers, then remove the preservation materials for inspection; as specified in the SPM TASK 70-53-02-630-501.
The ball bearings must not be disassembled, during the initial depreservation procedure.
The bearings must only be touched when clean gloves, made from an approved material, are used.
After inspection apply the preservation procedure specified in the SPM TASK 70-53-01-620-501, to prevent corrosion or damage of the bearings.
Prepare the bearings for shipment, as specified in the SPM TASK 70-51-01-530-501.
NOTE
Do not remove the bands that hold the bearings together.Do not remove all of the preservation materials from the new bearings; during the initial inspection of the inner (ID) and outer (OD) diameter dimensions. The preservation materials can be removed, from the ID and the OD, then replaced when the inspection is completed.
