TASK 23-44-41-300-002 Maintenance Interphone Jack Cable - ReplaceThe Contact Pins And Sockets, Repair-002 (VRS2984)
General
The cables are of sufficient length to permit the replacement of the contacts two times only. If more replacements are necessary, the harness must be disassembled and the applicable cables replaced - (Refer to VRS2925 (Repair-003) TASK 23-44-41-300-003).

Refer to VRS2977 (Repair-001) TASK 23-44-41-300-001.
Disassemble the backclamp and the connector.
Refer to Figure.
Cut the cable adjacent to the contact pin or socket.
Discard the rejected part.
Remove 0.276 in. (7.0 mm) of the cable insulation.
Prepare the cable end.
Refer to Figure.
Put the conductor into the contact barrel until it touches the bottom (or it can be seen in the inspection hole).
Use the M22520/1-01 Crimp tool for the correct gage of cable, with the applicable Crimp tool, to crimp the contact barrel.
Install the new contact pin or socket.
Manually pull the contact to make sure that it is satisfactorily attached to the conductor.
Do a check of the crimped joint.
Refer to VRS2977 (Repair-001) TASK 23-44-41-300-001.
Assemble the backclamp and the connector.
Refer to TASK 23-44-41-700-301.
Do a continuity and insulation test.
SUBTASK 23-44-41-350-060 Replace the Contact Pin or Socket

CAUTION
MAKE SURE THAT YOU USE THE CORRECT LOCATOR AND THAT THE CRIMP TOOL IS SET CORRECTLY. IF NOT, THE CABLE OR THE CONTACT CAN BE DAMAGED OR THE CONTACT INCORRECTLY ATTACHED TO THE CABLE.Use the CoMat 06-131 MARKING PEN.
Put the repair scheme number VRS2984 on the identification sleeve, of the harness, adjacent to the part number.
