Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 71-21-11-350-053 Remove the Damaged Insert 71-21-11-990-014

      1. Remove the damaged insert.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-08-300-501.

    2. SUBTASK 71-21-11-220-078 Install the New Helical Insert 71-21-11-990-014

      1. Apply a compound to the thread of new insert.

      2. Install the new helical insert.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-08-300-501.

        .

      3. Remove the tang.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-08-300-501.

    4. NOTE

      All free tangs shall be removed from the engine front mount tube immediately after breaking off.

    3. SUBTASK 71-21-11-230-054 Examine the Installed Insert 71-21-11-990-014

      1. Visual examine the installed insert.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-08-300-501.

      2. Torque check the installed insert.
