General
The cables are of sufficient length to let the terminal lugs be replaced two times only. If it becomes necessary to replace the terminal lug a third time, disassemble the harness and replace the applicable cable (Refer to VRS2966 (Repair-001) TASK 71-52-41-300-001.

Refer to Figure.
Cut the cable adjacent to the terminal lug and discard the terminal lug.
Remove 0.394 in. (10 mm) of the outer insulation sheath of the cable.
Pull back the ground screen from the cable end.
Remove 0.276 in. (7 mm) of the inner cable insulation material.
Pull the ground screen over the cable inner conductors and twist together the screen and the inner conductors.
Prepare the cable end.
Make sure that the terminal lug barrel is fully around the outer sheath of the cable.
Use the Crimp tool AMP 46988 to crimp the terminal lug on to the cable.
Install the terminal lug on the cable end.
Install the new terminal lug.
Cut a 0.787 in. (20 mm) length of heat shrink sleeve.
Install the heat shrink sleeve on the cable and the barrel of the terminal lug.
Install the Reflector PR25 on the Thermogun raychem CV1281.
Set the Thermogun raychem to give air at 327 deg C (620 deg F).
Use the thermogunThermogun raychem to heat shrink the sleeve on to the cable and terminal lug barrel.
Install the heat shrink sleeve.
Refer to Testing-001 TASK 71-52-41-750-301.
Do a continuity and insulation test.
SUBTASK 71-52-41-350-061 Replace the Terminal Lug
Use the CoMat 06-131 MARKING PEN.
Write the repairs scheme number VRS on the identification sleeve of the harness, adjacent to the part number.
