Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 71-71-42-220-058 Examine the Area for Repair

      1. Mark the repair area of the drains mast/collector plate assembly.

        1. The repair area of the drains mast/collector plate assembly must measure a minimum dimension of 10 times the depth of the damage.

    2. SUBTASK 71-71-42-350-051 Repair the Area of Damage

      1. Remove the damage.

        1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.

        1. Make sure that the maximum depth of the repair is not greater than the maximum depth of the damage.

        2. Make sure that the depth of the repair is zero at the edge of the marked area.

    3. SUBTASK 71-71-42-110-051 Clean the Repair Area

      1. WARNING

        DO NOT GET THE CLEANING FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, GLOVES, GOGGLES AND A MASK. USE THE FLUID IN A WELL VENTILATED AREA. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. IF YOU GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES, FLUSH IT AWAY WITH WATER. GET MEDICAL AID IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.

        Clean the repaired area.

        1. Make the area clean with a clean piece of lint-free cloth before the fluid dries.

    4. SUBTASK 71-71-42-220-059 Examine the Repaired Area

      1. Visually examine the repaired area.

        1. Refer to TASK 71-71-42-200-101.

        1. Make sure that the repaired area is smooth and has no scratches.

        2. Make sure that the repaired area has no sudden changes in thickness.

    5. SUBTASK 71-71-42-850-053 Put the Repair Scheme Number on the Drains Mast/Collector Plate Assembly

      1. Mark the repair scheme number VRS2957 on the tube adjacent to the part number with the electro-etch method.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501.
