Refer to Figure.
All blends must be smooth and continuous.
The minimum blend length to depth ratio is 50 to 1.
Make sure all damage marks are completely removed and the area(s) made smooth in to the adjacent area.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
Blend the surface damage on the internal cone and shoulder surfaces to remove scores, tool marks, or burrs.
SUBTASK 72-00-32-350-051 Remove the Damage from the Stub Shaft Internal Cone and Shoulder Surfaces
Visually examine the repaired area for scores, tool marks and burrs with the use of a Magnifying Glass, 10x 1 off.
Make sure the surface finish compares with the adjacent surfaces.
Visually examine the repaired area(s).
SUBTASK 72-00-32-220-108 Examine the Stub Shaft Assembly
Refer to SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.
No cracks are permitted.
Use Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection Equipment 1 off.
Do a penetrant crack test of the repaired area(s).
SUBTASK 72-00-32-230-051 Examine the Stub Shaft Assembly for Cracks
Refer to Repair VRS1289, TASK 72-32-51-300-014 (REPAIR-014).
Apply a corrosion resistant coating to the repaired area, if required.
