General

Refer to TASK 72-00-00-200-001, (INSPECTION-001) Examine the modular/non-modular interfaces, before you do this TASK.

The policy that is necessary for check is given in the SPM, TASK 70-20-01-200-501.

The word "reject" after an interface inspection statement requires that further detailed inspection or repair as applicable, of the affected area be accomplished using data in the applicable ATA section of the part in question. Contact IAE for FAA approved data if the referenced TASK is not in the manual.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-50-210-068 Examine the Cracks, the periseal housing, the tube connector and the periseal connector retaining clamps.

      1. Visually examine the retaining clamps of the periseal housing.

        1. Cracked

        2. Reject

      1. Visually examine the periseal housing.

        1. Cracked

        2. Reject

      1. Visually examine the connector tube.

        1. Cracked

        2. Reject

        1. Dented or nicked causes break-through in the tube

        2. Reject

      1. Examine the retaining clamps at tube connections.

        1. If they are dented but function satisfactorily

        2. Accept

        1. Broken or loose

        2. Reject

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-50-220-236 Examine the LPT cooling air duct support and half loop clamps

      1. Visually examine the support.

        1. Cracked up to 0.196in. (5.0 mm) length and a maximum of five cracks on each support

        2. Accept

      1. Visually examine the half loop clamp.

        1. Cracked

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-50-210-069 Examine the LPT cooling air duct assembly

      1. Examine the cooling air duct assemblies for cracks, dents, nicks and loose mountings.

        1. Cracked cooling tubes

        2. Reject

        1. Dented or nicked in any area, causes a breakthrough in the tubes or the housing

        2. Reject

        1. Loose mountings caused by missing or defective rivets
