Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-31-11-110-063 Remove the Damaged Seal and Bumper from the Annulus Filler

      1. Remove the suction and the pressure side annulus filler seals and pad damper.

      1. Refer to TASK 72-31-11-100-000 (CLEANING-000).

      2. Remove the dry film lubricant.

      1. Refer to TASK 72-31-11-100-000 (CLEANING-000).

      3. Remove the heat resisting E.S. coating where applicable.

      1. Refer to TASK 72-31-11-100-000 (CLEANING-000).

    2. SUBTASK 72-31-11-380-060 Apply the Coating

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Mask the areas where the paint is not to be applied.

      3. Apply heat resisting E.S. coating.

        1. Spray two coats of CoMat 07-063 HEAT RESISTING EROSION RESISTANT COATING, EPOXY SILICONE to obtain a coating film thickness of 0.001 to 0.002 in. (0.025 to 0.050 mm).

        1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-20-380-501.

      4. Apply the dry film lubricant.

      1. Refer to VRS1008, TASK 72-31-11-300-004 (REPAIR-004), or VRS1735, TASK 72-31-11-300-020 (REPAIR-020).

    3. SUBTASK 72-31-11-360-056 Attach the Seals

      1. Attach the suction and pressure side annulus filler seals and pad bumper.

      1. Refer to VRS1007, TASK 72-31-11-300-003 (REPAIR-003) or VRS1018, TASK 72-31-11-300-022 (REPAIR-022).

    4. SUBTASK 72-31-11-220-076 Examine the Annulus Filler Assembly

      1. Visually inspect the annulus filler assembly.

      1. Coating must be uniform, free from runs, flaking or blisters and correct thickness.

    5. SUBTASK 72-31-11-350-067 Mark the Repair Number on the Annulus Filler Assembly

      1. Make a mark VRS1009 adjacent to the part number.

        1. Use vibrating marking pencil.

        1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501.
