Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-03-350-053 Remove the Damaged Insert

      1. Remove the damaged insert.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-08-300-501.

        Refer to Fig Figure.

    2. SUBTASK 72-32-03-350-054 Install the New Helicoil Insert

      1. Apply a compound to the thread of new insert.

      2. Install the new helicoil insert.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-08-300-501.

        Refer to Fig Figure.

      3. Remove the tang.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-08-300-501.

    4. NOTE

      All free tang shall be removed from the LH and RH corner panel filler assembly immediately after breaking off.

    3. SUBTASK 72-32-03-220-079 Examine the Installed Insert

      1. Visual examine the installed insert.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-08-300-501.

      2. Torque check the installed insert.
