Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-35-350-059 Remove the Damaged Sealing Strip

      1. Remove the damaged sealing strip.

      1. Refer to TASK 72-32-35-100-000 (CLEANING-000).

      2. Clean the air seal.

      1. Refer to TASK 72-32-35-100-000 (CLEANING-000).

    2. SUBTASK 72-32-35-350-060 Prepare the Bonding Surface

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Prepare the bonding surface.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-36-02-360-501.

    3. SUBTASK 72-32-35-350-061 Prime the Bonding Surface

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. CAUTION

        THE PRIMER MUST BE APPLIED WITHIN 8 HOURS AFTER THE BONDING SURFACE IS PREPARED.

        CAUTION

        DO NOT APPLY THE PRIMER ON THE SURFACE OF THE SEALING STRIP.

        Prime the bonding surface.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-36-02-360-501.

    4. SUBTASK 72-32-35-360-052 Blend the Sealing strip

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. CAUTION

        THE INCLUSION OF AIR IN THE BONDING SURFACE MUST BE PREVENTED AND UNWANTED COMPOUND MUST BE REMOVED.

        Bond the ends of the sealing strip and bond the sealing strip to the air seal for 2 hours at room temperature.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-36-02-360-501.

      3. Cure for 48 hours at room temperature.

      1. Do not apply a load during this time.

    5. SUBTASK 72-32-35-220-071 Examine the Rear Air Seal Assembly

      1. Visually examine the rear air seal assembly.

      1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Make sure that there are no signs of foreign inclusion, delamination, soft spot or lack of bond.

      3. If necessary, do Step thru Step again.
