TASK 72-32-40-040-001 No. 1 Bearing And Support Assembly - Disassemble, Disassembly-001

General

This TASK gives the procedure to remove the oil feed tube and the oil jet from the No. 1 bearing support.

SBE 72-0391 standard No. 1 bearing support includes the No. 1 bearing front support and the No. 1 bearing rear support. Procedure to disassemble the No. 1 bearing support is given in TASK 72-32-41-040-001 (DISASSEMBLY, PB-501).

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.

Discard all rubber seal rings, cotter pins and seal washers removed in this procedure.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-40-040-051 Remove the Oil Jet and Oil Feed Tube Assembly from the No. 1 Bearing Support Assembly

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Put the No. 1 bearing support assembly on a work bench horizontally.

    3. Put two applicable blocks adjacent to the No. 1 bearing support assembly to hold it.

    4. Remove the two screw bolts, nuts and washers which safety the No. 1 bearing oil jet to the front flange of the bearing support.

      NOTE

      Hold the oil jet and oil feed tube assembly before the bolts are removed.

    5. Remove the bolt No. 1 Bearing Front Support And Rear Support Assembly (72-32-41,01-110) from the bracket of the bearing support and remove the oil jet and oil feed tube assembly.

    2. SUBTASK 72-32-40-040-052 Remove the Oil Feed Tube from the Oil Jet Assembly

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Disconnect the oil feed tube from the oil jet assembly.

    3. Remove the two seal rings from the oil feed tube and discard them.

    4. Remove the inner and outer clips and the bushing from the oil feed tube.

    3. SUBTASK 72-32-40-040-053 Remove the Oil Jet and the Oil Jet Strainer from the Strainer Housing

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. Remove the two bolts, nuts and washers and remove the No. 1 bearing oil jet from the strainer housing.

    3. Remove the oil jet strainer from the strainer housing.

    4. SUBTASK 72-32-40-040-054 Disassemble the No. 1 Bearing Support (SBE 72-0391)

    1. Disassemble the No. 1 bearing support. Refer to TASK 72-32-41-040-001 (DISASSEMBLY).
