Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-56-325-051 Machine the Worn Snap Diameter

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Attach the front air seal on a lathe, set the front air seal to run true.

      2. Use a lathe.

    3. Machine the snap diameter to 12.799 to 12.792 in. (325.1 to 324.9 mm).

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-56-220-057 Inspect the Front Air Seal

      1. Do a visual inspection for the machined area.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-21-01-220-501.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-56-230-053 Examine the Front Air Seal for Cracks

      1. Do a crack test.

        1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-01-230-501.

        2. Cracks are not permitted.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-56-120-051 Abrasive Blast the Front Air Seal

      1. Mask off areas that are not to be plasma sprayed.

      1. Abrasive blast the front air seal surface to be plasma sprayed.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-12-02-120-501.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-56-340-051 Apply Plasma Spray on the Snap Diameter

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Touch up masking if necessary.

      1. Apply plasma spray. Maximum diameter of 12.770in. (324.37 mm) is required after plasma spray.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-34-03-340-501.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-56-324-052 Grind the Snap Diameter

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Grind the plasma sprayed snap diameter to 12.783 to 12.781 in. (324.705 to 324.616 mm).

      2. Use a grinding machine.
