Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-71-350-054 Remove the Damaged Sleeve Bearing from the Link Arm Assembly

      1. Press out the damaged sleeve bearing.

      2. Use an Arbor Press and a 0.040 in. (10.16 mm) diameter pin.

    2. Remove sharp edge around the sleeve bearing hole.

    3. Clean the hole with a soft clean cloth and blast with air.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-71-220-083 Examine the Sleeve Bearing Hole of the Link Arm Assembly

      1. Measure the hole diameter of the link arm.

      2. Refer to Figure.

      3. If the hole diameter is out of drawing limit, reject link arm.

      1. Visually examine for damage in hole.

      2. Scratches are permitted but remove raised material.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-71-380-052 Apply the Surface Protection to the Link Arm Assembly

      1. Apply CoMat 01-275 CHROMATE CONVERSION COATING FOR ALUMINIUM to the repaired surface, if necessary.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-02-100-501.

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-71-350-055 Install New Sleeve Bearing to the Link Arm Assembly

    2. Chill sleeve bearing in dry ice and heat link arm assembly in an oven 212 deg F (100 deg C).

      1. Press sleeve bearing into link arm assembly.

      2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Visually and dimensionally examine.

      2. Refer to Figure.
