Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-32-86-350-051 Remove the Damage from the Rear Fairing Assembly

    1. Refer to Figure.

      2. Scallop, make smooth and/or hand polish to remove the nicks and scratches.

      1. Use abrasive stone or paper and/or fine file.

      2. Surface finish of the repair must be the same as the adjacent area.

      3. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.

    2. SUBTASK 72-32-86-220-051 Examine the Rear Fairing Assembly

      1. Visually examine the repaired area.

      1. Visually examine the repaired area for the nicks, the scratches using 10X magnifying glass.

      2. Refer to TASK 72-32-86-200-000 (INSPECTION-000).

    3. SUBTASK 72-32-86-230-051 Examine the Rear Fairing Assembly for Cracks

      1. Fluorescent penetrant examine the repaired area.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.

      2. Make sure there are no cracks in the repaired area.

    4. SUBTASK 72-32-86-110-052 Remove the Grease from the Rear Fairing Assembly

      1. Remove the grease from the repaired area.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-26-300-503.

      2. Use a clean cloth which is moist with degreasing fluid and make clean the repaired area.

    5. SUBTASK 72-32-86-380-051 Apply Surface Protection to the Rear Fairing Assembly

      1. Apply chromate conversion coating to the repaired area.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-02-300-503.

      2. Clean and dry the repaired area.

      1. Use clean cold water and compressed air.
