All polish marks must be in a radial direction from the vane ID to OD.
The surface finish of the repair area must be the same as the adjacent area.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
Use abrasive stones or papers and/or fine files.
Scallop, make smooth and/or hand polish to remove nicks, scratches and damage.
Remove the minimum quantity of material necessary to give the correct radius.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
Hand polish the vane leading and/or trailing edge radius and the vane profile to make a smooth shape.
SUBTASK 72-32-88-350-056 Remove the Damage from the Fan Exit Vane
Use a 10X magnifying glass.
Refer to TASK 72-32-88-200-000 (INSPECTION-000).
Visually examine the repaired area for nicks, scratches and damage.
Visually examine the repaired area.
SUBTASK 72-32-88-220-066 Examine the Fan Exit Vane
Make sure that there are no cracks in the repaired area.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.
NOTE
The fluorescent penetrant inspection is not applicable to the outer platform of Assembly B.Fluorescent penetrant examine the repaired area.
SUBTASK 72-32-88-230-055 Examine the Fan Exit Vanes for Cracks
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-26-300-503.
NOTE
The surface protection is not applicable to the outer platform of Assembly B.Remove the grease with solvent.
SUBTASK 72-32-88-110-053 Remove the Grease from the Fan Exit Vane
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-02-300-503.
NOTE
The surface protection is not applicable to the outer platform of Assembly B.Apply the chemical conversion coating with a brush to the repaired area.
