Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-40-00-320-054 Machine the HPT Bearing Retaining Nut

      1. Set-up and machine the 2A0145 retaining nut cooling air holes to the dimensions given in the figure.

      1. Refer to Figure requirements.

    2. SUBTASK 72-40-00-350-067 Install the Metering Plugs

      1. Install the 2A2248 metering plugs in every other cooling air hole.

      1. Refer to Figure requirements.

    3. SUBTASK 72-40-00-350-068 Identify the HPT Bearing Retaining Nut

      1. Mark the new part number adjacent to the part number that was there before.

      1. NUMBER BEFORE 2A0145.

        2. NEW NUMBER 2A2247.

        1. Refer to Figure requirements.

        2. Do the procedure given in the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501 and use the vibration peen method.

    4. SUBTASK 72-40-00-440-051 Assemble the HP Turbine Case and Vane Assembly

      1. Install the 2A2247 HPT bearing retaining nut.

      1. Do the procedure given in TASK 72-40-00-430-006 or TASK 72-00-45-420-001-001.
