General

This TASK gives the procedure to clean the combustion chamber clamp spacer. For the other parts of the HP system module, refer to TASK 72-40-00-100-000 (CLEANING-000).

The practices and processes referred to in the procedure by the TASK numbers are in the SPM.

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants, refer to the IPC.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-40-00-110-064 Remove the Grease and Oil

      1. Remove the grease and oil. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-03-300-503.

      1. Degrease parts by aqueous cleaning.

    2. SUBTASK 72-40-00-110-085 Remove the Rust and Carbon

      1. Remove the rust and carbon. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-13-300-503.

      1. Cleaning of components (long soak, for cobalt and nickel base alloys and heat and non-corrosion resistant steels).

    3. SUBTASK 72-40-00-110-086 Remove the Rust, Carbon and Scale

      1. Remove the rust, carbon and scale. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-54-300-503.

      1. Heavy duty scale removal from a component (cobalt and nickel base material).
