Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-21-120-079 Prepare the Part for Repair

    1. Refer to Figure, Figure and Figure.

      2. CAUTION

        SURFACES FOR REPAIR MUST BE FULLY CLEANED AND NOT TOUCHED BY HAND.
        CLEAN COTTON OR POLYTHENE GLOVES MUST BE WORN.

        Seal the areas not to be repaired.

      3. Abrasive blast the areas to be repaired.

    4. Remove the masking tape.

      5. Clean the assembly.

      1. Make sure that all the abrasive grit has been removed.

      2. Use a dry air blast or a vacuum assisted brush.

    2. SUBTASK 72-41-21-380-114 Apply the Surface Protection

    1. Refer to Figure, Figure and Figure.

      2. Seal the areas not to be painted.

      3. Apply the surface protection.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-21-380-501, SUBTASK 70-38-21-380-008 (type 'A' coating).

      2. Use CoMat 07-036 ALUMINIUM HIGH HEAT RESISTANT PAINT, with paint spray equipment.

    4. NOTE

      Remove the masking tape, before you stove the aluminum high heat resistant paint.

    3. SUBTASK 72-41-21-220-455 Examine the Surface Protection

    1. Refer to Figure, Figure and Figure.

      2. Examine the surface protection.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-21-380-501, SUBTASK 70-38-21-220-001, (type 'A' coating).

      3. Do a conductivity check.

      1. Use a conductivity meter.

    4. SUBTASK 72-41-21-350-167 Re-identify the Part

      1. Re-identify the part.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501, SUBTASK 70-09-00-400-002.

      3. Mark on the part number adjacent to the existing marks which are under the surface protection.
