Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-23-350-068 Remove The Pins

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Remove the worn pins.

      2. Remove the pins with a drift.

    3. Remove the sharp edges around the location holes.

      1. Clean the holes.

      2. Use a soft clean cloth and blast with air.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-23-220-121 Examine The Holes

    2. Refer to Figure.

    3. Visually examine the pin location holes.

      1. Measure the dimensions of the pin location holes.

        1. If the diameter of the pin location holes is between 0.2359 in. - 0.2366 in. (5.992 mm - 6.010 mm).

        2. Accept.

        1. If the diameter of the pin location holes is above 0.2366 in. (6.010 mm) and up to 0.260 in. (6.60 mm).

        2. Refer to Repair, VRS9281 TASK 72-41-23-300-027 (REPAIR-027).

        1. More than 0.260 in. (6.60 mm).

        2. Reject.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-23-350-069 Replace The Pins

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Fit the retaining rings, to the pins as necessary.

      2. Use AS20763 retaining ring, 02-455, 10 off and LK54570, 02-456, 10 off.

      3. Push the retaining ring over the pin until it engages in the groove.

      1. Chill and fit the pins to the rear outer case assembly. Refer to SPM TASK 70-46-04-400-501.

      2. Make sure the pins are pushed hard down.

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-23-220-122 Examine the Repair

    2. Refer to Figure and Figure.

      1. Visually examine the pin location.

      2. Make sure the end of the pin is below face AB.
