Use CoMat 06-022 FLUORESCENT PENETRANT (POST-EMULSIFIED ULTRA HIGH SENSITIVITY), with penetrant crack test equipment.
Cracks are not permitted.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.
Do a local penetrant crack test on the area(s) to be repaired.
SUBTASK 72-41-31-230-098 Do a Crack Test
Refer to Figure.
The maximum depth to remove the damage must not be more than 0.005 in. (0.13 mm).
The repaired area(s) is to be 50 times the depth.
Use standard workshop equipment,
Refer to SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
Remove small area(s) of damage as necessary.
Remove sharp corners.
Use standard workshop equipment, with CoMat 05-110 EMERY POLISHING PAPER and/or CoMat 05-111 EMERY POLISHING PAPER.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
Blend the area(s) of repair.
Use standard workshop equipment.
Polish the repaired area(s) to give a surface finish the same as the adjacent material.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
Polish the area(s) of repair.
SUBTASK 72-41-31-350-054 Remove the Damage
Use CoMat 06-022 FLUORESCENT PENETRANT (POST-EMULSIFIED ULTRA HIGH SENSITIVITY), with penetrant crack test equipment.
Cracks are not permitted.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.
Do a local penetrant crack test on the repaired area(s).

Use chemical cleaning equipment.
Refer to SPM TASK 70-11-26-300-503.
Chemically clean the repaired area(s) to remove the fluorescent penetrant.
