Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.
Use Comat CoMat 06-022 FLUORESCENT PENETRANT (POST-EMULSIFIED ULTRA HIGH SENSITIVITY), with penetrant crack test equipment.
Crack are not permitted.
Do a local penetrant crack crack test on the area(s) to be repaired.
SUBTASK 72-41-31-230-096 Do a Crack Test
Refer to Figure.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
The maximum depth to remove the damage must not be more than 0.005 in. (0.13 mm).
The repaired area(s) is to be 50 times the depth.
Use standard workshop equipment with CoMat 05-106 ABRASIVE STONE and/or CoMat 05-111 EMERY POLISHING PAPER.
Remove small area(s) of damage as necessary.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
Remove sharp corners.
Use standard workshop equipment with CoMat 05-110 EMERY POLISHING PAPER and/or CoMat 05-111 EMERY POLISHING PAPER.
Blend the area(s) of repair.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
Use standard workshop equipment, with CoMat 05-110 EMERY POLISHING PAPER and/or CoMat 05-111 EMERY POLISHING PAPER.
Polish the repaired area(s) to give a surface finish the same as the adjacent material.
Polish the area(s) of repair.
SUBTASK 72-41-31-350-053 Remove the Damage
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.
Use Comat CoMat 06-022 FLUORESCENT PENETRANT (POST-EMULSIFIED ULTRA HIGH SENSITIVITY), with penetrant crack test equipment.
Crack are not permitted.
