Refer to Figure.
Blend to the depth of the damage as shown in Figure. Do not increase depth of damage. Remove minimum amount of parent material necessary.
Maximum blend depth allowed is 0.030 in. (0.76 mm).
Ensure minimum blend length to depth ratio of 10 to 1.
No sharp edges, blend smooth and continuous with surrounding surface.
Make sure damage marks are fully removed.
Blend to remove surface damage on the platform surface Location 3 by SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
SUBTASK 72-41-34-350-206 Blend to Remove Damage on Platform Surface Location 3 (For PNs 6A7975 and 6A7976 Only)
Maximum blend depth allowed is 0.020 in. (0.50 mm).
Minimum blend length to depth ratio waived.
No sharp edges, blend smooth and continuous with surrounding surface.
Make sure damage marks are fully removed.
Blend to remove surface damage on the wrench flat surfaces by SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
SUBTASK 72-41-34-350-207 Blend to Remove Surface Damage on Wrench Flat Surfaces (For PNs 6A7975 and 6A7976 Only)
Refer to Figure.
Blend to the depth of the damage as shown in Figure. Do not increase depth of damage. Remove minimum amount of parent material necessary.
Maximum blend depth allowed is 0.010 in. (0.25 mm).
No sharp edges, blend smooth and continuous with surrounding surface.
Minimum blend length to depth ratio waived.
Cumulative blend area must not exceed one percent of the bearing Surface 1353.
Make sure damage marks are fully removed.
Blend to remove surface damage on the bearing Surface 1353 by SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
SUBTASK 72-41-34-350-208 Blend to Remove Damage on Bearing Surface 1353 (PN 6A8611 Only)
Refer to Figure.
Blend to the depth of the damage as shown in Figure. Do not increase depth of damage. Remove minimum amount of parent material necessary.
Maximum blend depth allowed is 0.010 in. (0.25 mm).
No sharp edges, blend smooth and continuous with surrounding surface.
Ensure minimum blend length to depth ratio of 10 to 1.
Make sure damage marks are fully removed.
Blend to remove surface damage on the HPC Vane Actuating Crankshaft Aft Surface by SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
SUBTASK 72-41-34-350-209 Blend to Remove Damage on HPC Vane Actuating Crankshaft Aft Surfaces (PNs 6A8610 and 6A8611 Only)
Chemically clean and swab etch the repaired area(s) by SPM TASK 70-11-39-300-503.
SUBTASK 72-41-34-110-153 Do a Swab Etch
Use high sensitivity fluorescent penetrant. No indications or cracks permitted.
Do a local penetrant crack test on the repaired area(s) by SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.
SUBTASK 72-41-34-230-677 Do a Crack Test
Polish the repair area(s) to give a surface finish the same as adjacent surface by SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
SUBTASK 72-41-34-350-210 Polish the repair area
Use vibration peen method.
Permanently mark the part with "VRS9392" adjacent to the existing part number by SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501.
