This Repair must only be done when the instruction to do so is given in TASK 72-41-34 (INSPECTION/CHECK).

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-41-34-110-067 Chemically Clean

      1. Degrease the actuating ring.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-01-100-501.

        Use chemical cleaning equipment.

    2. SUBTASK 72-41-34-120-052 Abrasive Blast

      CAUTION

      UNMASKED SURFACES MUST NOT BE HANDLED WITH BARE HANDS. CLEAN POLYTHENE OR COTTON GLOVES MUST BE WORN.
      IF SURFACES ARE TOUCHED OR CONTAMINATED, DO Step AND Step AGAIN.

    1. Refer to: Figure

      3. Dry abrasive blast the areas to have protection.

    4. Remove masking tape.

      5. Remove all excess abrasive.

      1. Use clean, dry compressed air blast.

    3. SUBTASK 72-41-34-380-059 Apply Surface Protection

    1. Refer to: Figure

      2. Mask areas not to have protection.

    4. SUBTASK 72-41-34-350-098 Identify the Component

      1. Make a mark VRS6126 adjacent to the assembly number.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-09-00-400-501, SUBTASK 70-09-00-400-001.

        Use vibro engraving equipment.
