General

You must do the rework on the stage 1 HPT cooling duct assembly given in TASK 72-44-50-840-001, SBE 72-0046 - REWORK 001 at the same time you do the rework given in this procedure.

The practices and processes referred to in the procedure by the TASK number are in the SPM.

Refer to the indicated Service Bulletin for specific application requirements.

Repair facilities

The source Demonstration requirements of this rework means that any facility not authorized to accomplish this rework either utilize the Authorized Rework Vendors listed below or contact IAE Technical Services to determine if a qualification program can be initiated at their facility.

    1. SUBTASK 72-45-14-350-053 Rework the Stage 1 HPT Blades

      1. Send the blades to the approved rework vendor to do the modification and identification.

      2. Refer to Figure.

    1. SUBTASK 72-45-14-350-054 Identify the Reworked Stage 1 HPT Blades with the New Part Number

      1. Make sure the new part number is marked adjacent to the part number that was there before when the rework is completed.

      2. NUMBER BEFORE - 2A1721.

        NEW NUMBER - 2A2421.

    1. SUBTASK 72-45-14-350-055 Identify the 2A2321 Stage 1 Turbine Rotor Assembly

      1. Mark the new stage 1 turbine rotor assembly number adjacent to the number that was there before. Use the vibration peen method.

        1. NUMBER BEFORE - 2A2321.

          NEW NUMBER - 2A2521.

        2. Refer to procedure given in TASK 70-09-00-400-501.
