Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-50-22-330-072 Prepare the Material and Surfaces

      1. Prepare the material and the surface.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-14-380-501.

    1. SUBTASK 72-50-22-380-061 Touch-Up Coating of the Stage 5 Turbine Vane

      NOTE

      Deleted.
      1. Apply coating in area A1.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-14-380-501 and to Figure.

    1. SUBTASK 72-50-22-370-055-001 Diffusion Heat Treatment of the Recoated Stage 5 Turbine Vane

      NOTE

      Before diffusion heat treatment remove the honeycomb, refer to VRS4168 TASK 72-50-22-300-047 (REPAIR-047) or VRS4331 TASK 72-50-22-300-063 (REPAIR-063).
      After diffusion heat treatment replace the honeycomb, refer to VRS4168 TASK 72-50-22-300-047 (REPAIR-047) or VRS4331 TASK 72-50-22-300-063 (REPAIR-063).
      Do the precipitation heat treatment after honeycomb replacement VRS4168 TASK 72-50-22-300-047 (REPAIR-047) or VRS4331 TASK 72-50-22-300-063 (REPAIR-063).
      1. Diffuse the recoated stage 5 turbine vane.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-14-380-501.

      1. Precipitation heat treat the stage 5 turbine vane.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-37-27-370-501, alloy IAE 1447.

        Optional precipitation heat treatment of 1575 deg F to 1625 deg F (857 deg C to 885 deg C) for 8 hours can be used.

    1. SUBTASK 72-50-22-370-055-002 Diffusion Heat Treatment of the Recoated Stage 5 Turbine Vane

      NOTE

      Precipitation heat treatment is not necessary after optional diffusion heat treatment.
      1. Diffuse the recoated stage 5 turbine vane.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-14-380-501 except diffusion heat treat at 1575 deg F to 1625 deg F (857 deg C to 885 deg C) for 2 hours.

    1. SUBTASK 72-50-22-220-220 Do the Post Repair Inspection

      1. Examine the recoated areas.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-38-14-380-501.
