Use honing stone or CoMat 05-019 WATERPROOF SILICON CARBIDE, CoMat 05-020 WATERPROOF SILICON CARBIDE and CoMat 05-021 WATERPROOF SILICON CARBIDE and/or fine file to remove thread pick up, high metal and polish any other damaged surface on thread. Remove the minimum quantity of material necessary to remove the damaged area.
Surface finish on the repaired areas must be same as that of the adjacent area.

Make smooth and/or hand polish to remove damage on thread.
SUBTASK 72-50-41-350-060 Remove the Damage from the Thread
Visually examine the repaired area for nicks, and/or scratches using 10X magnifying glass.

Visually examine the repaired area.

Make sure there are no cracks in repaired area.
