Use honing stone.
The surface finish of the repair must be same as the adjacent area.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
Make smooth and/or hand polish to remove the galls from the spline.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
Use abrasive stone.
Remove the minimum amount of material to smooth out the defect.
The depth of the blend must not be more than 0.006 in. (0.15 mm).
The number of blend must be within 10 places.
The surface finish of the repair must be same as the adjacent area.
Blend in circumferential direction.
Make smooth and/or hand polish to remove the scratches and scores at location 2 and 4.
Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-03-300-501.
Use abrasive stone.
Remove the minimum amount of material to smooth out the defect.
The depth of the blend must not be more than 0.035 in. (0.90 mm).
The minimum distance between blends must be 2 in. (50.8 mm).
The surface finish of the repair must be same as the adjacent area.
Blend in circumferential direction.
Make smooth and/or hand polish to remove the scratches and scores at location 3 and 5.
SUBTASK 72-50-41-350-052 Remove the Damage from the LP Turbine Shaft
Visually examine the repaired area for galls using 10X magnifying glass.
Refer to TASK 72-50-41-200-000 (INSPECTION/CHECK-000).
Visually examine the repaired area.
SUBTASK 72-50-41-220-069 Examine the LP Turbine Shaft
Refer to TASK 72-50-41-200-000 (INSPECTION/CHECK-000).
Make sure there are no cracks in the repaired area.
Magnetic particle examine the repaired area.
