General

This TASK gives the procedure to clean the No.5 bearing face seal. For the other parts of the No.5 bearing assembly and seal, refer to TASK 72-50-42-100-000 (CLEANING-000).

The practices and processes referred to in the procedure by the TASK/SUBTASK numbers are in the SPM.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-50-42-160-051 Clean and Lap the No.5 Bearing Face Seal

      1. Clean and lap the face seals. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-11-18-300-503.

      2. Use compressed air carbon seal handling - cleaning, lapping and checking.
