Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-50-53-350-070 Remove the Damaged Self Locking Shank Nut

    2. Refer to: Figure

      1. Remove the self locking shank nut.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-11-300-501.

        Use a hand drilling machine.

    1. SUBTASK 72-50-53-230-072 Examine the Case

      1. Do the fluorescent penetrant inspection on the rivet holes and the adjacent surfaces.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.

        Cracks are not permitted.

    1. SUBTASK 72-50-53-350-071 Install the New Self Locking Shank Nut

    2. Refer to: Figure

      1. Install the new self locking shank nut.

      2. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-35-11-300-501.

        Use peening tools (0.250in.).
