Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-50-53-350-096 Remove the Damaged Nut Plates from the Turbine Exhaust Case Assembly

      1. Remove the damaged nut plates from the turbine exhaust case.

      1. Refer to Figure.

        Use a drill to remove the rivets which attach the nut plates.

    2. SUBTASK 72-50-53-230-086 Fluorescent Penetrant Inspect the Turbine Exhaust Case

      1. Fluorescent penetrant inspect the rivet holes and the adjacent surfaces.

      1. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-23-05-230-501.

        Cracks are not permitted.

    3. SUBTASK 72-50-53-350-097 Install New Nut Plate(s)

      1. Install new nut plate(s).

      1. Refer to Figureand SPM TASK 70-39-03-390-501.

        Use new rivets to attach the nut plate(s).

    4. SUBTASK 72-50-53-220-188 Examine the Repair

      1. Inspect the turbine exhaust case after repair.

      1. Refer to Figureand TASK 72-50-53-200-000 (INSPECTION/CHECK-000).
