General

This TASK gives the procedure to flush the fuel nozzle and support in the direction opposite to usual operation. Do this TASK before and after you do any cleaning procedure.

The practices and processes referred to in this procedure by the TASK numbers are in the SPM.

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.

To identify the consumable materials refer to the PCI.

NOTE

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 73-13-41-110-052 Flush the Fuel Nozzle and Support Assembly

      1. CAUTION

        THE FUEL METERING PLUG AND THE SUPPORT ASSEMBLY ARE A MATCHED SET AND MUST BE KEPT TOGETHER.

        Remove the fuel strainer element and the metering plug. Attach the metering plug to the fuel nozzle support with CoMat 02-141 LOCKWIRE.

      2. Repair, VRS3458 (Repair-002) TASK 73-13-41-300-002.

    2. Put the assembly into the IAE 1P16170 Adapter fixture 1 off.

      1. Flush the assembly for 2 minutes.

      2. Use fuel pressure of 60 psig (413.7 kPa)

      1. Flush the assembly with clean, dry air until dry.

      2. Use air pressure maintained at 30 psig (206.8 kPa).

    3. Remove the assembly from the fixture.
