General

Refer to Figure.
Remove the protective cap or bag from the data entry plug connector.
Align the main key on the data entry plug connector with the holding fixture receptacle main key-way.
Use light hand pressure to engage the data entry plug connector with the holding fixture receptacle and tighten with your fingers.
Install the data entry plug connector on the IAE 1P16271 Holding fixture 1 off as follows:
Align and install the anti-vibration rubber (73-22-35,01-125) 1 off on the jumper end(s) or into the backshell (73-22-35,01-130) of the data entry plug connector.

CAUTION
MAKE SURE THE BACKSHELL DOES NOT TURN WHEN YOU LOOSEN THE BACKSHELL NUT. IF THE BACKSHELL TURNS, DAMAGE TO THE JUMPER WIRES CAN OCCUR.Install the backshell on the connector and tighten the backshell nut with your fingers.
Torque the backshell nut to 53 to 58 lbfin (5.99 to 6.55 Nm). Use TG-70 Strap Wrench or equivalent.
Lock the backshell to the backshell nut with CoMat 02-138 LOCKWIRE.
Remove the data entry plug assembly from the holding fixture.
Install a protective cap or a clean dry bag on the data entry plug assembly.
