General

This TASK gives the procedure to clean the screw thread insert. For the other parts of the igniter plug, refer to Cleaning-000 TASK 74-21-41-100-400.

The practices and processes referred to in the procedure by the TASK numbers are in the SPM.

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants, refer to the IPC.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 74-21-41-110-052 Remove the Grease and Oil

      1. Remove the grease and oil. Refer to SPM TASK 70-11-03-300-503.

      1. Degrease Parts by Aqueous Cleaning.

    2. SUBTASK 74-21-41-110-053 Remove the Carbon and Scale

      1. Remove the carbon and scale. Refer to SPM TASK 70-11-13-300-503.

      1. Cleaning of components: Long soak, for cobalt and nickel-based alloys and heat and non-corrosion resistant steels
