This repair uses a welding procedure to weld cracks or to build up material in worn areas.

Refer to SPM TASK 70-23-02-230-501.
Florescent penetrant examine the damaged area for crack indications.
Refer to Step
If there are no cracks.
SUBTASK 75-22-48-230-052 Examine the Damaged Area of the Duct Assembly
Use CoMat 05-021 WATERPROOF SILICON CARBIDE in the areas to be welded.
Remove the sharp edges.
SUBTASK 75-22-48-350-052 Remove Sharp Edges from the Repair Area
Refer to Cleaning-000 TASK 75-22-48-100-101.
Remove all oxides, hydrocarbon, grit and scale by local cleaning from the surface to be welded and the adjacent area.
SUBTASK 75-22-48-110-052 Remove all the Dirt from the Surface
Refer to SPM TASK 70-31-02-310-501-001.
Use welding procedure to close the crack or to build-up material in the worn area.
SUBTASK 75-22-48-310-051 Weld the Crack or Worn Area
Use a Hand Held Pneumatic Grinder.
Remove excess weld and make the weld area smooth with the adjacent area.
SUBTASK 75-22-48-350-053 Remove the Excess Weld
Refer to Cleaning-000 TASK 75-22-48-100-101.
Clean the repaired area.
SUBTASK 75-22-48-110-052 Clean the Repair Area
If there are no cracks, go to Step
Penetrant examine the repaired area for cracks. Refer to SPM TASK 70-23-02-230-501.
SUBTASK 75-22-48-230-053 Examine the Repaired area for Cracks
Use a CoMat 06-131 MARKING PEN of contrasting color.
Make a mark VRS2304 adjacent to the assembly number.
