General

This Repair must only be done when the instruction to do so is given in Inspection-004 TASK 75-31-42-200-404.

This repair is to replace the thin wall insert(s), when they are broken, worn, cross-threaded or missing, also flanged location dowel when damaged or missing and/or plain dowel when damaged or missing.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 75-31-42-350-061 Remove the Damaged Thin Wall Insert(s), Assembly A

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Remove damaged thin wall insert(s) and discard. Refer to SPM TASK 70-35-26-300-501, SUBTASK 70-35-26-350-001.

    1. SUBTASK 75-31-42-350-062 Remove the Damaged Flanged Location Dowel(s), Assembly A

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Remove damaged flanged location dowel(s) and discard.

      1. Remove sharp edges around location hole(s).

      1. Clean the holes.

      2. Use a soft clean cloth and blast with air.

    1. SUBTASK 75-31-42-350-063 Remove the Damaged Plain Dowel(s), Assembly A

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Remove damaged plain dowel(s) and discard.

      1. Remove sharp edges around location hole(s).

      1. Clean the holes.

      2. Make sure you can get an interference fit of 0.00008 inches to 0.00126 inches (0.002 mm to 0.032 mm) on the hole diameter.

      1. Install replacement thin wall insert(s). Refer to SPM TASK 70-35-26-300-501, SUBTASK 70-35-26-350-001.

      2. Use AS52761 insert, as necessary.

    1. SUBTASK 75-31-42-350-065 Install the Replacement Flanged Location Dowel(s), Assembly A

    2. Refer to Figure.

      1. Freeze and install replacement flanged location dowel(s).

      2. Use AS44806 flanged location dowel.

      3. Ensure dowel(s) are pushed down hard.
