Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-32-450-076-A00 Install the Data Entry Plug Assembly (73-22-35,01-100) on the Fan Case (Pre SBE 73-0005 and SBE 73-0029)

      SBE 73-0029: Supplies a new part number pin with a shorter grip length and a new part number collar

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. CAUTION

      FAILURE TO INSTALL THE CORRECT DATA ENTRY PLUG TO THE APPLICABLE ENGINE CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE TO GIVE MORE OR LESS THRUST THAN IS NEEDED.

      Make sure that the engine serial number on the data entry plug backshell is correct for the engine you put it on (see the engine identification plate for the correct engine serial number).

    3. Install pin DATA ENTRY PLUG ASSY (73-22-35, 01-114) through the data entry plug assembly connecting chain/cable hole and through the rear side of hole No. 14 located on Flange FC.

    4. Install the collar DATA ENTRY PLUG ASSY (73-22-35, 01-110) on the pin and tighten with your fingers.

    5. Hold the pin with a wrench in the hexagon opening.

    6. Tighten the hexagon nut on the collar in a clockwise direction until the hexagon nut is sheared off. Discard the sheared hexagon nut.

    7. Make sure the protective cap or a clean dry bag is on the data entry plug assembly.

    2. SUBTASK 72-00-32-450-076-B00 Install the Data Entry Plug Assembly (73-22-35,01-100) on the Fan Case (SBE 73-0005 and Pre SBE 73-0029)

      SBE 73-0005: Supplies an additional washer on the Hi-lok pin of the Data Entry Plug

    1. Refer to Figure.

    2. CAUTION

      FAILURE TO INSTALL THE CORRECT DATA ENTRY PLUG TO THE APPLICABLE ENGINE CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE TO GIVE MORE OR LESS THRUST THAN IS NEEDED.

    3. Install pin DATA ENTRY PLUG ASSY (73-22-35, 01-114) through the data entry plug assembly connecting chain/cable hole and through the rear side of hole No. 14 located on Flange FC.

    4. Install the washer DATA ENTRY PLUG ASSY (73-22-35, 01-112) and collar DATA ENTRY PLUG ASSY (73-22-35, 01-110) on the pin and tighten the collar with your fingers.

    5. Hold the pin with a wrench in the hexagon opening.

    6. Tighten the hexagon nut on the collar in a clockwise direction until the hexagon nut is sheared off. Discard the sheared hexagon nut.

    7. Make sure a protective cap or a clean dry bag is installed on the data entry plug assembly.
