General

Fig/item numbers in parentheses in the procedure agree with those used in the IPC. Only the primary Fig/item numbers are used. For the service bulletin alpha variants refer to the IPC.

Apply the approved CoMat 10-058 PENETRATING OIL before the removal of the threaded parts and parts with an interference fit. Let the parts soak before removal.

Discard all rubber seal rings, cotter pins and seal washers removed in this procedure.

Remove and discard the lockwire before the parts are disconnected or removed.

Transportation covers/blanks must be installed immediately after the removal of components.

NOTE

To identify the consumable materials refer to the PCI.

Procedure

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-60-020-097 Disconnect the ACOC Oil Tubes 119 and 122

      NOTE

      Some oil drainage could occur during this procedure. It is recommended that an applicable container be available.
    2. Refer to Figure and Figure.

    3. Disconnect the tube 119 from the tube 118. Use IAE 1R18002 Wrench 1 off.

    4. Disconnect the tube 122 from the tube 121. Use IAE 1R18002 Wrench 1 off.

    5. Remove three bolts which attach the tube 122 to the ACOC.

    6. Remove three bolts which attach the tube 119 to the ACOC.

    7. Remove the nut, washer and bolt which safety the pipe clips at clip position 0220.

    8. Remove the nut, washer and bolt which safety the pipe clips at clip position 1031.

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-60-020-098 Disconnect the Oil Tubes 121, 173 and 118 (Pre SBE 71-0110)

    2. Refer to Figure.

    3. Remove the three bolts which attach the tube 121 to the oil pressure filter. Remove and discard the preformed packing.

    4. Loosen the bolts which safety the clips of the tubes 118 and 173 at position 0333.

    5. Remove the bolt from the clip securing the tubes 121 and 118 at the clip position 0200.

    6. Remove the bolt from the clip securing the tubes 118 and 121 at the clip position 0334.

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-60-020-168 Disconnect the Oil Tubes 121, 173 and 118 (SBE 71-0110)

      SBE 71-0110: Provide rerouted oil tubes for the ACOC and the oil tank assembly

    2. Refer to Figure.

    3. Remove the three bolts which attach the tube 121 to the oil pressure filter. Remove and discard the preformed packing.

    4. Loosen the bolts which safety the clips of the tubes 118 and 173 at positions 1110, 1111, 1116 and 1117.

    5. Remove the bolt from the clip securing the tubes 121 and 118 at the clip position 0200.

    6. Remove the bolt from the clip securing the tubes 118 and 121 at the clip position 1109.

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-60-030-051 Remove the Dedicated Alternator Stator

    2. Remove the dedicated alternator stator, refer to TASK 72-00-60-050-001.

    1. SUBTASK 72-00-60-020-099 Remove the tube 184

    2. Refer to Figure.

    3. Cut and remove the wire and disconnect the tube 184 from the gearbox casing and from the PMA drive gear assembly.

    4. Remove the tube.

    3. Remove the three nuts which attach the PMA drive gear assembly to PMA drive housing.

      1. Pre SBE 72-0055 and 71-0110.

      2. Pull the pipe cluster forward until the bracket disengages from the studs.

      1. SBE 72-0055 and 71-0110.

      2. Remove the two nuts which attach the bracket ENGINE-MAIN GEARBOX ASSEMBLY (72-60-10, 01-630) to the flange of the drive gear assembly.

    4. Disengage the flange of the PMA drive gear assembly from the PMA drive housing.

    5. Move the tube cluster against the fan casing. Put a plastic or wood wedge below the tube cluster to keep the tube in position.

    6. Hold the two legs of the bracket with two pairs of pliers. Move the bracket away from the flange of the PMA drive gear assembly.

    7. Remove the PMA drive gear assembly from the PMA drive housing.

    8. Remove and discard the two packings from the PMA drive gear assembly.
