CAUTION
THIS PROCEDURE IS NOT APPROVED FOR GENERAL CLEANING BEFORE FLUORESCENT PENETRANT INSPECTION BECAUSE THE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS USED IN STEP 3.A.(3) CAN MASK CRACKS.
CAUTION
DO NOT USE TITANIUM-TYPE OR ALUMINUM OXIDE-TYPE ABRASIVES (SUCH AS, IN THE USUAL EMERY CLOTH OR ALUMINUM OXIDE BLASTING) ON THE SURFACE TO BE BRAZED. TITANIUM OR ALUMINUM IN ANY FORM HAS A BAD EFFECT ON THE MOLTEN BRAZE METAL FLOW.
CAUTION
ENTRAPMENT OF ABRASIVES CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO PARTS.
Procedure
Wet abrasive blast. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-12-08-300-503.
Wet abrasive blast. Refer to the SPM TASK 70-12-12-300-503.
Use a 3 inch (76.2 mm) diameter, silicon carbide 80 grit abrasive cloth flapper wheel (CoMat 05-238 FLAPPER WHEEL, ABRASIVECLOTH) to remove light oxidation from the part.
